View Full Version : Williams Replacement
Had to save a bit of money after selling the Willy, so it's back to a trusty 6...

How does it compair to the williams for speed ?

Surprisingly similar, considering they way they do it is very different indeed! I've done a few speed tests and the end results were about the same when my Willy was standard. The Williams was quicker when modded, though. This one has a Scorpion cat-back and - I think - a de-cat, and was rolling roaded a few years back at 177bhp, so it's a little better than standard.

Lol, just what I was thinking!
A mate used to have a '6 and it was very simalar with my (at the time) modded valver, great cars and very quick above 80!
P6000s of death though.
Not sampled the delights of P6000s in the wet, but I must say they're fine in the dry. The worn suspension is a wobbly mess of death at the moment anyway!

Very nice, i always wondered how these were compared to a willy! I have P6000's on the hybrid, i must say there good enough in the dry, shite in the wet though!!! I only bought them as they were dirt cheap from work and will probably last forever!
Nice motor, shame about the seats tho...

I was after 1 of these b4 i the williams popped up, still want 1 now :(
The last unruly pug with a sting in its tail. I think I had a pullover in the 80s that had patterns that looked like that seat upholstery :)
very nice Matt, I fancy one of these or maybe a 106 gti next

Tell me about it. It's even more oversteery than I remember it being. And now you come to mention it, I think I've seen that pullover!

Cheers. I went straight to this from a 106 GTi. The 106 is a lot more nimble and lively, but the 306 a much better car in every other respect.
If you do end up looking - Ph1 GTi-6s are generally supposed to be quicker than the Ph2...
Really? I can't really live with the looks of the ph1 they really show their age I think.... hmm

Same reason why I didn't bother with a Ph1. I guess it's cos they don't have air-con, even though they do have a sun-roof instead. You can get good examples of any versions, though, so it's not that big a difference.

No worries mate - I'm going to Anglesey with everyone next month, so I'll still be joining in the fun with the Clio crew.
Looks like I may be following Zollo to the dark side.....if all goes well i should pick up my 6 monday! :)
Original plan was to keep standard but I've just found myself eyeing up tb's and fibreglass bonnet

Why do they put that fabric in em! Never understood it - They do look good with buckets though in these...
A while ago I was eyeing up a white rallye before the williams - twas very nice I must admit but I dunno something about the drive of the willy made me forget the 306..
