I am considering taking the car to the local ATS euromaster and getting them to change the oil this weekend simply for the reduced hassle.

Has anyone ever used them for an oil change on a valver / willy. I know the filter is hard to get to so i am half expecting them to refuse to do it...

I just use an olf tesco blue basket that I cut the top off....to catch the oil. The easiest way to get the filter of is to stick ur hand in the gap next to rad. I did not do the one that u have at the mo up too tight....cos I know what a bastard they can be to undo if u do!

If u get desperate u can always pop over to mine and I will do it for u? 8)

dont go anywere near a tyre n exhaust fitter for oil change as they will use cheap n nasty oil, and might be a 16 yr old trainee messin with your pride n joy...do it yourself !!

They have quoted £40 for a change using Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 (they only use Shell oil at ATS) which is around that mark for 6 litres anyway.

Cheers for the replys guys.

Im looking to change the oil filter and do an oil change myself. Halfords never seem to have the filter i need in  Is it worth getting a new sump washer?
