I need to extend my fuel lines to run around the top engine mount, as i've moved them from above the pulleys (prevention better than cure!)

My question is, if i just get some more pipe, then buy a hose joiner (like this (http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/products.asp?recnumber=53312), the gold one in the pic), will that be ok, or will the join become a bottleneck with it making the pipe thinner where it joins?

Or am i worrying too much?

Just replace the lot. The next join back to the tank is behind the front drivers wheel. Get some proper howing then rather than the shoite Renault used.

I've heard it's difficult to get hold of fuel hoses? Surely it'd be cheaper and easier to just extend the existing ones? Never had an issue with them.

Plus the clips that hold the hoses on at the bottom of the bay look a slag to get off!

Can pick up length from your local factors/frauds?

Clips are easy, stop being a girl! :P

standard lines are 8mm i think.

8mm hose. Even Halfrauds sell it. Clips break very easily. Then just slide new hose on.

Do you need to use clips if you link two hoses together with a hose joiner?

I've had fuel spraying over my engine loads of times 'til I replaced the lines.

Yeah me too, but only because the pipes were resting on top of the engine and squashed by the bonnet, which started pulling on the main feed for the engine, thus splitting the pipe! Lost half a tank of petrol lol

That's why i want to extend them around the mount so it doesn't happen again!
