All of those parts look pretty much identicle to the 172 conversion parts, the only thing thats different is the release arm. The volvo release arm fits the standard valver/williams release bearings, but the 172 arm requires the newer 172 release bearing.

Also i think the 172 release arm is a slightly different shape whereas the volvo release arm is a very similar shape to the standard valver/williams release arm, except its extended at the end to make it longer.

Good luck mate looks like yours might work out better than mine! Did you get a new gaitor from Renault for the release arm? Mine was tatty as fook and it makes it look much better

Right just had a proper dig in the garage for you mate! Everythings in boxes as we've just moved but i've found all my invoices from ReaGroup from when i ordered the conversion parts.

I **think** this is the part number for the release arm gaitor:

1 x 7700856630 - SEAL C/HOUSING - £8.70

Also, i've found the part number for the R5GTT uprated clutch, which is:

Valeo Volvo 480 Turbo 200mm 3 piece kit - Part No. R-801015 'CLUTCH KIT-UPRATED R5 NEW SHAPE TURBO-HEAVY DUTY' £69.00 + VAT.

Just print that line out and take it with you, that's what i did, and they found it no probs! Also had it in stock.

It will just show up as 'CLUTCH KIT' on their system, but it comes in a Valeo box.

Let me know if you need anything else! I've got the part number for the 172 pivot bush as well?

Well Mike, i've gone and done it!

Bought the parts needed to do the conversion. Ordered the parts from volvo earlier today. & just got off the phone to GSF having ordered the clutch, along with cambelt & 2 front wheel bearings

Popped to renault & ordered the stop as well - they are much easier to deal with when you have a part number to hand!

Got a nice discount off GSF too - the lady i spoke to was lovely, and she owned a valver also!!!

Not too shabby - about £195 delivered for 2 front wheel bearings, R5 clutch, and cambelt with tensioners!

Quite pleased!

Also got a water pump and a female track rod end locally, as they were cheaper!

Jesus i'm giving myself some work to do!!!

LMAO, you certainly have man...

Good going with the parts. i also found them much easier to deal with when you give them part numbers.

I am in the process of getting mine back together, as cliokiz as already stated you have to the airbox WILL NOT fit, u have to butcher it to get it on or get a K&N or IK.. sumin like that...

let us no how you get one Alex

You just have to stop the bottom bit off that sticks out, the obvious downside of this is that you can no longer connect a cold air feed to it so it's just sucking air from above the gearbox, but i guess it's better than a K&N. A better solution would probably be to use the new hill power IK.

*CHOP, not stop, sorry

Fair play to GSF, ordered the bits on the phone at 3pm yesterday, and they arrived an hour ago! I must admit, i'm well impressed with their service thus far.

Mike, i've got a green induction which will be going on the willy engine. So no need to worry about the airbox issue. I know it saps power, but the sound is mint! & i'm planning on getting either a Viper or Hill Power induction in the future - probably the H/P, although there's no going back once it's on as there's a big hole left in the bulkhead!

Have heard that K-Tec's Viper isn't that good though?

How your progress coming along anyway Mike?

Yea H/p soundslike a good idea.. i think i am goin to have to invest in a IK....

Yea progress goin well, whilse i was getting clutch out and wat not i decided to renew some parts like ur self gaskets and wat not...

Just in the progress of putting back together should be finished tonight all been well with the clucth cable and with new folk getting it to disengage..
