removing speedo from box

hi i'm currently changing the box on my valver as its buggered but how do you remove the speedo unit,i'm guessing its something to do with that peg that slides through

There should be a black plastic clip with two wings on, squeeze these together and pull.
Altho they are normally very stuck in, top tip, squirt a load of WD40 down the side of it and leave to soak.

peg that slides through? you mean the wire clip? pull it out completely and it shouldin theory pull out, but be prepared for a battle
