Its been mentioned a few times lately but I was wondering if I'd need to use a megane downpipe/decat wuth the megane manifold? Or does the williams one fit?

you need to use a modified megane downpipe, or make one from scratch.

Yep, you have to use the meggy downpipe, thats the point of the conversion.

Minor mod needed to it.

the angle of the pipe and the poisition of the flange needs altered slightly.

The megane downpipe is frankly an awful piece of work. The 2 secondaries merge and the merge is so bad that I cannot fathom who designed it that badly.

Also the weld along the top on the pipe cracks or gets pin hole leaks I have found.

Well the downpipe Ive just received looks in good condition, had no experience of them before so only time will tell!!

The manifold, from what Ive been told, gives the gains you get through a stainless stell item without the problems of cracking and other related problems like with the supersprints.

In terms of modding the flange, a vey good source tells me that you have to chop the bottom of the downpipe, rotate it and weld it back on.

Does anyone think I will be okay just roatating the flange slightly so it matches the 16V one (going north to south instead of South-West to North East)...

Or will i need to bring the megane downpipe across to the left a bit more as it doesnt appear to come towards the left as much as the 16V one.

For those that don't know, the Clio item is one the left, the megane item is on the right.

its not the lambda boss, thats the EGR pipe fitting.

Like I said you need to chop it turn it and re--angle it.

Have you looked up the downpipe from the cat end? If not look at how the secondary merges into the pipe, its terrible.

EGR Pipe?

I can see anywhere else for the lambda sensor to go, thats why I assumed it was that lol.

Ill have a look at th downpipe this aft.

Maybe the lambda goes further down the exhaust on the megane in which case you'll need a lambda boss putting into the system somewhere

isnt there a step where the manifold meets the collector which will cause turbulance leaving you with a very small hole for the gasses to exit

I noticed this as well, it is a strange flaw i know!

The chop is done near the join, the junction can be modded i.e the joining pipe inside can be chopped back.

Mike, you getting the welding done @ Greenwoods or somewhere else?
