I cannot see what people have an issue with James for he's been a moderator for ages even before it "went downhill" before Jas left.
However I can see what issue people have with Tom (no insult ment Tom but I can see what issues people have with you).
The forum has changed and the rules have been more and more strictly enforced. They were always there just when the forum was smaller they weren't enforced as much.
The lack of racing tales is a good idea though personally particularly on a more public forum unlike this forum.
as far as i can remember ive no problems with Tom, i have with James though
how often do the chair 'people' post on ClioSport, fair enough they have jobs and their own social life, but if you cant do it properly dont take on the job, which is why i handed over the Area Rep job to someone else, i couldnt put in the time anymore that people deserved
and Lunner, brazo has a point, if you dont like it, dont read it, i dont post all over your threads that i dont like what your talking about, so if some of us are interested in wax etc, just dont read it, it really is that simple, almost everything else though i agree with you on
Jas needs to come back for a bit, if he can, the problem really is that most of the moderators just moderate, they dont get involved with anything on the forum, so they are only seen as moderators and not part of the community
Thats sorted then, now their defences are down we can send Stromba in to "Liberate" them from the harsh regime that has been suppressing them for so long.

Roamer is ok, he is a decent bloke, its jsut when he gets ont eh forum he doesn't put up with any crap, he will sit there reading stuff, and then wihtout warning have a big rant, as i said compleltly differnt in real life as to how he comes accross on the forum

On a more serious note though, i would like to say a big thanks to Kathy and Wayne for all the hard work they have put in to taking a semi decent car club and reducing it to a dating agency full of spoilt children with cars bought by daddy, chavs, moaners, losers and generally uncool 'cant make real friends' type of bellends.

Mainly Tom. Piss taking answers to threads which 30 secs later were deleted topics, shitty PM's etc etc. I actually spoke to another Mod on the site who is spot on and admitted Tom said he was chasing me around threads winding me up. No i'm not naming names as this certain mod has treated me with the upmost respect which was returned. I also made a point of thanking this person for there honesty and fairness. If only Tom and James for that matter wewre like that there would be no problem with me and a lot of the disgruntled members you have.

what's done is done, CS was a cool place, now it's just moved away from being a car owners club for car enthusiasts and ended up like a soap opera. People voiced their concerns, me being one of them, I never insulted anyone and never got personal... but instead got sarcy replies and spoken to as if stupid. i dont take it personally nor does it really bother me, but imo you didn't want to listen to the club members that had been there since the beginning and hence the reason most of them left, which gives the impression that your not really bothered one way or the other. I may be wrong, that's just the impression you and Kathy left me with.
i feel that if you had let the club continue to run the way it was with all the old content and just banned the completely OTT porn and whatever else was completely unacceptable then the forum would pretty much self moderate... instead I now see petty parting shots at members blaming them for your failure to not listen or at least reason with people and try to justify your actions... which imo you have to, as it's not your club, it was ours as well.

Tom and James are not admin. Admin and mods don't know everything that each other are up to. You would need to complain to an admin about a mod rather than another mod.

Hi mate. TBH think thats the best idea considering the size of the site.
I know its not a easy job - FCS alone has taken me weeks of planning. So i wish cliosport all the best and I hope some of the people who have felt it necessary to leave can come back.
what's done is done, CS was a cool place, now it's just moved away from being a car owners club for car enthusiasts and ended up like a soap opera. People voiced their concerns, me being one of them, I never insulted anyone and never got personal... but instead got sarcy replies and spoken to as if stupid. i dont take it personally nor does it really bother me, but imo you didn't want to listen to the club members that had been there since the beginning and hence the reason most of them left, which gives the impression that your not really bothered one way or the other. I may be wrong, that's just the impression you and Kathy left me with.
i feel that if you had let the club continue to run the way it was with all the old content and just banned the completely OTT porn and whatever else was completely unacceptable then the forum would pretty much self moderate... instead I now see petty parting shots at members blaming them for your failure to not listen or at least reason with people and try to justify your actions... which imo you have to, as it's not your club, it was ours as well.
Which was the big thing that we wanted to fix. Our biggest goal and reason for taking over was really to turn it back into a CAR club/forum which means removing the shit and porn etc. Unfortunately some people didn't agree with that.

That's oh so relevant to most real car enthusiasts, if it's aimed at cruizers (they spell it like that dont they?) then fair enough i'll shut my mouth (or cut my fingers off in this case :D ) but the solution I would have been looking for would be leave it as it is, remove general chat and allow people to talk freely about car performance in discussion. Quitting is a bit drastic I feel, listen to me, do that and everyone will love you ;)
... oh and might be prudent to get Tom some lessons in social skills, like how not to talk to people... or get someone else to moderate that doesn't just rub people up the wrong way.

Despite what people may think we didn't run it as a "dictatorship". Although we were chairpeople all decisions were discussed with the admin team and moderators. The only problem that stems from what you suggest is that is causes arguements from people that don't believe you then cal you a lying twat etc. but personally I agree with you

most people don't shell out over 10,000 cash on a car because you get better returns on an investment of over 10,000+ than putting it into a car. You pay it on finance or a loan agreement & get a sensible return on your money rather than watching it depreciate quicker than a stone LOL.

I know there are a lot of members, but i think the club kinda lost it roots and that's what disappointed me the most... that and when I expressed my view I was spoken to like a child. I at least like justification to the reasons why, not just being fobbed off with answer like, this is the way it is deal with it kinda thing. that not exactly democratic is it? I dont think you should quit personally if it was like it was back in the day and no nonsense towards the teen angst crap it would be great... a few maxers might leave, but as the club is non profit based who cares? look after the real enthusiasts the club was based around and designed for :D

i think id have to agree with jesus on getting rid of general chat as it seems to have taken over with just what is shit imo, with the size of the site and the fact its for ALL clios u will never be able to stop ppl who like bodykits n 18" alloys etc going on , were as WC is obviously about mk1's mainly and will have a limited size so will be easyier to keep in order, hopefully cs will be back up n running and back its older ways , driving tales etc back

The dci vs Williams wasn't exactly fair. However my dci did beat the Williams round one set of bends at Oulton park however to be fair it was on the first few laps and it was the instructor diving my car.
Rental cars though humm just thinking about them now hum what can I do to get my hands on one of those 1.2 Renault courtesy cars.

I've never been involved in any of these forum hassles because I've always been in charge of CS events. Whoever it is who's been the cause of all this problem with CS shutting down the forums, congratulations if you're reading this - after 4 years of hard work to get Clio drivers and enthusiasts the recognition and respect they deserve, you've managed to **** it all up.
Anyway, I wish Williams Clio well as a club/community, I hope you are successful. Those of you who know me, know that I sincerely mean that. But for those of you on here who haven't anything better to do with your lives than fuss about Cliosport or what they are doing, who they've banned, the silly argument you had online etc etc, GROW UP for God's sake. The time will come when you get to be a big enough club that you will have exactly the same hassles that caused CS to shut down. Just hope that when that happens you look back on this particular episode and take some lessons from it, see what it's like when the tables are turned.

:( I have read this thread and although a member of CS only posted a couple of posts as it wasn't really my thing - having said that I think at the end of the day it is a shame CS has gone as there should have been room for all of us to co-exist in harmony- I have nothing against anyone who enjoys their cars even if that means bodykits etc - so what -at least their not out mugging old ladys! My post isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but I know that people who have contributed to causing friction with CS admin - whether through the CS mods or directly on CS threads - post on here or at least watch this forum.
Running a club like CS takes a lot of hard work, and when I see people constantly bitching about club admin and making out like it's a piece of piss to build and maintain a strong club like CS, I just think they don't know the half of it, they're talking out of their arseholes. This is not aimed at anyone on here in particular, but like I say, I know some of the people who have caused this problem, a lot of whom are CS users themselves, watch these threads. So it seems worthwhile to post on here.
I know a lot of you on here personally, I recognise almost all of the Williams Clio 'memberlist' names as CS forum users or members. I'm kind of 'neutral' because of this, so I hope my words are listened to.
So as I said earlier, it's the people who are forever bitching about CS admin and mods that are the ones who are shutting our club down. Why? Because none of us admin get paid a penny. We use our own time up to keep everything running smoothly. We don't even expect gratitude to be honest, although it's nice to hear. If you don't like the mods or admin on a particular forum, go elsewhere. RIght or wrong, if you come on CS forums and can't abide by the rules or don't like them then you have no right to use them, simple as that. You'll find it's the same on most other well-run, busy forums. The only places you can get away with 'unmoderated' forums is where there are only 25 people on at a time anyway.
So chill out. And as I also said earlier, I'm looking forward to FCS as long as I can make it, let's hope that it goes well for both CS and Williams Clio, long may they both be successful.

RIght or wrong, if you come on CS forums and can't abide by the rules or don't like them then you have every right to kick off, simple as that. You'll find it's the same in South African prisons. The only places you can get away with 'unmoderated' forums is the dark side of the moon, Plymouth and 17th Century France.
So lets fight. And as I also said earlier, I'm looking forward to a right big scrap at the FCS as long as I can bring a weapon, let's hope that it goes well for Williams Clio, long may it blow CS away.

If you think that the vast majority of our 1500 members know who you are or even care, you are very much mistaken. Instead of obsessing about Cliosport because of some inferiority complex that you have, why not get on with trying to build up Williams Clio and be positive.

Ok, lets knock on the door and ask for Ronny Real. Firstly, i have met you, and thought you were an ok kind of a guy. You like to talk about yourself / your car alot (ALOT), but being a teacher i kind of think maybe you get used to speaking more than listening. But, i thought you were ok, that aside.
Secondly, i have no social problems, but i may well have a strange sense of humour. Strange, maybe, but nontheless a humour of the sensical variety. If more people had one of these, maybe there would be less anal bickering in your club. Or ex-club, however you want to look at it.
Thirdly, whether i have managed to single handedly wreck a really good car forum is doubtful. Appointing Tom and James to positions of power, removing driving tales and banning doing anything remotely enjoyable did a pretty good job of pressing the self destruct button in all honesty. The funny thing is, that if and when it opens again, the admin will reappoint the same moderators, which will rub the same people the wrong way and cause all the same problems. Someone once wrote that the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expectinbg a different result.
We could sit here all night talking about who is the biggest fish in the biggest pond, but really you see, i dont see myself as pond life. You are quite welcome to come over here and discuss your car with myself and other enthusiasts. But please dont tell me what i can and cant do. Only Northy and Fatboy can do that.
Also, once last thing. If Cliosport is trying to be upstanding and set a good example by enforcing strict rules based on our current social morals, do you not think it is slightly hypocritical for your founder to behave with no morals on a certain Cliosport holiday and then again after the holiday was over? Maybe your management should lead by example, before you start preaching to me about my behaviour.

Excellent reading, very enjoyable...i pissed myself laughing a good few times.
Annoyingly enough i decided to red card CS a few days ago as i got fed up with a few people on there...not mods btw, and now it looks like im just doing it as a knee jerk reaction to Slug and K stepping down...im not!!
The last few months over there have been dire and i hope this place doesnt go that way, sure it wont though.
Shame im in Jersey and cant really get to the FCS as i would like to put faces to names etc...have fun and post the pics of 25 Williams..wish mine was one of em...Stromba, try not shout too much abouse across as i think the CS lot their are the real car enthusiasts and not the teen angst lot :shock:

let me first say to stromba that i apologise as i have slated you on cliosprt previously. i remember old posts of yours on there about 002 and i did enjoy you verbally masterbating over it ...great times.
from reading this thread i have realised you are a funny guy, who lmaybe speaks his mind a bit too much, but nethertheless a funny guy.

cliosport has been destroyed by over moderation, censorship and members who feel the need to post for the sake of it (although looking back they only do it to wind up the admin - they have paid thier fiver so they will post whatever they want - MikeC, Clart, Loony etc).
anyway. well done to northy for creating this materpiece of a site...i'll definately be on here more often...

Yeah A272 is a good road... Anywhere back of chicester/portsmouth (southdowns) is my usual stomping grounds, I normally go out early in the morning (2am or so) for a bit of a rally down single track country lanes etc. So the A272 is nice, but a bit to much of a trunk road for my liking, much prefere narrow country lanes... what the willy is designed for :)

Summeh, try the B3081 from Ringwood to Shaftesbury if you like twisty, roller-coaster roads. Done it on the bike a few times now, and it still scares me :shock: . Let me know if you do have a blast along it one early morning. I'll come join in :twisted:
