hi all

Im in the process of fully rebuilding my valver and have already ditched the PAS pump (for space) and rack, I have also aquired a 1.2 16v electric rack.

I was planning on fitting a mk2 1.2 16v abs unit which im told is standalone and can be switched off if wanted, but the main reason was for the output for the electric racks speed sensitivity. But having a ph1 valver with no abs rings or sensors, fitting would be a ball ache due to having to fit the above parts just for the reading/abs to work, if its the last resort then i'll just have to go ahead with it.

Is there another way I could get a reading for the sensitivity without the abs unit or can i take a reading off the road speed sensor on the speedo cable? or is there any other way i can use the leccy rack as i dont want a manual, im not a girl, i just prefere it

also what are the part numbers for PAS rack removal, brackets and belt? (on a F7R engine)

the car will be hybrid'd but im wanting space near the front of the engine if i decide to go ITB's etc.

thanks

Nope...i'm afraid i've never seen the engine bay of a mk2 so don't know anything about them.

I'd just use the manual mk1 parts...the steering isn't any heavier and the ratios aren't bad.

ive had a mk1 1.2 with a manual rack its only low speed thats hard work but would prefere to keep some comforts, I'll have to do some more investigating, cheers for the guide tho.

no but the fact he found it hard work to park a 1.2 with a manual rack leads me to that conclusion or the opne where something was seized.

The non ps cars are only fractionally heavier than the ps ones. Its still an easy 1 hand job to steer even when parking.

fair enough

were ther wheels the right offset? even a few mm on 17's can make it from as easy as 13's to very difficult
