Finally got round to lowering it today!

Did the torsion bar first the other day, & did the springs today. What a pain in the arse the nearside strut was to do - everything was seized! Much swearing, hammering, and WD40'ing later, and was done!

Cheers fella!

It was ok to be honest! It's only the second one i've done.

Both theads were still intact, so i gave it a damn good smack with the hammer both in the middle and at either end, then soaked the lot in WD40. Then i just used the normal socket and bolt method. Took it slowly an kept hammering the bar just to try free it off. After i got 1 side out, the other side came out piece of piss!

I then copper greased all the splines and put the bar in and back out a few times.

The bit that was a pain was the front, as mentioned above. 1 side was easy, but the nearside was a bastard! The top rubber wouldn't come off at first, and the allen key slot was starting to round off  Managed to get it off with a mole grip tightly on the strut lower down, then just put a socket on the top nut.

Next problem was the nut that held all the strut together. The top was all seized solid. Tried loads of things, but no joy. In the end, managed to loosen it off with a hammer. I certainly made sure i greased all this side up when putting it back together!
