It looks like I have figured out what the knocking is with my new gearbox when turning into right handers. The inner joint (passenger side) is fouling against the inside of the gearbox when cornering hard.
After measuring the depth of the driveshaft cup within the Kangoo box it appears that it is 5mm shallower than a 16v/Willy box. I will be putting the driveshaft in the lathe tonight to skim it down a bit and reaming out the inner joint as well which will hopefully cure the knocking.
So by tomorrow I will either be very happy or will have completely screwed one of my driveshafts.
