Just a quick one really - finances are tight :( and I've been advised that one of my fronts is a) low on tread (hands up to that one lol) and b) mishaped

Given that 185/55/15 F1s have now gone up to £80 EACH or something on mytyres  :x instead of the £50 they were about a month ago, would it be safe to leave my perfectly fine 185/55/15 F1s on the back and put 195/50/15 F1s on the front? (£35 each :) )

Would it handle weird?

I guess the rear would be softer and more progressive, but would that be really out of place if the front was grippier and less progressive?

I always vowed I stay standard but that extra £90 is a LOT of money...

BMW stylee. Ther run different profiles almost as standard across the range now.

Aparently helps handling and gives the car a more agressive look

Most rear-drive performance cars do. It means more grip to the driven wheels.

Just looked on mytyres for you...

Bridgestone Potenza RE040s - £48
Dunlop SP Sports - £50
Continental Premiumcontact 2s - £59
Michelin Pilot Exaltos - £71

All in 185/55. About the same as they've always been? :?

Yeah, but F1s are now £78.90  :(

They were only about £50 a couple of months back - should have stocked up then :(

Oh, is it the RE040s that Mat recommends? I can't remember if it was that or the RE050(?)s...

Zollo

NO!

They'll fit, but they're not the cheapest or best. You want 195/50/15 or 185/55/15.

You should be able to revise the order if you do it straight away...
