I have a Clio Williams 1. It's immaculate and currently totally original. It's only done 49k, 1 owner, absolutely all history etc. and I'm planning to sell it just as soon as I find my new car (probably in the next fortnight). Just put it in for its service and MOT and it's passed on everyting except the exhaust which is blowing slightly.

Should I:
1) Pay £315 all-in for official Renault part thus keeping car totally original
2) Put on a stainless steel lifetime guarantee job which is non-Renault and I've been quoted £299 fitted
3) Investigate some other options - any recommendations?

I feel at the moment that because it is currently totally original I shouldn't put on a noisy big bore job. Do you think a new buyer of an original car like that would rather have a Renault exhaust, a stainless exhaust or do you think virtually everyone would change the exhaust and I might as well put something more sporty on?

Thanks in advance...

I'd definately keep it original with the exhaust, not many people that can say they have that...

If you were keeping it i'd say get the perormance exhaust but as you are selling it, I think 100% origional is more of a selling feature.

Thanks v much - have ordered the standard system. Price of £315 included fitting and VAT. I got another quote which was virtually the same so I don't think he's ripping me off (plus that's London labour charges).

Will be interested to know in a couple of weeks what you think I should put it up for.
