Had the ported and polished cylinder head pressure tested today....
****ing oil started pissing out through hairline cracks.... the head is effectively scrap metal.

most annoyed as it will delay me a good week or so.. unless i decide to utilise my cylinder head....hmmmm. Cheesed off.

at least it wasnt fitted to the car! lol... £200+ notes thrown away....well at least i get some valves lifters and cams.

WANTED: Williams Cylinder head or 1.8 16v one at a good cheap price is poss many thanks, gibbo

FFS! Surley you can take it back? Shouldnt they test it beforehand? If they did then it must be shoddy work?!??

from the mech report, the head has been extremely hot at some stage, it has already been skimmed... anyway.. im not right bothered....live and learn..
plan b
will just have 2 b standard valver head cams and remap. :-(

BenR

well, its quite possible to repair it.

If its bent, skim, relieve the chambers, use verniers to compensate for head thickness. If a seat is gone, replace, if there is a tiny hole, dab of weld etc etc.

If you really want to run it and its not been mashed by pistons and valves, then its almost certainly recoverable.
