Had the ported and polished cylinder head pressure tested today....
****ing oil started pissing out through hairline cracks.... the head is effectively scrap metal.
most annoyed as it will delay me a good week or so.. unless i decide to utilise my cylinder head....hmmmm. Cheesed off.
at least it wasnt fitted to the car! lol... £200+ notes thrown away....well at least i get some valves lifters and cams.
WANTED: Williams Cylinder head or 1.8 16v one at a good cheap price is poss many thanks, gibbo
not to kick you while your down mate, but how come the place that did your port/polish have it pressure tested before working on it ?

Is it in the bowl, chamber, seat, port?
did air bubble up from them?
Can you not take it back to the bloke you brought it off?
FFS! Surley you can take it back? Shouldnt they test it beforehand? If they did then it must be shoddy work?!??

I bought it from a scrap yard (fulll engine and ecu for £150) and sold it on to get a willy.....The lad i sold it to never fitted and sold it gibbo

from the mech report, the head has been extremely hot at some stage, it has already been skimmed... anyway.. im not right bothered....live and learn..

will just have 2 b standard valver head cams and remap. :-(
well, its quite possible to repair it.
If its bent, skim, relieve the chambers, use verniers to compensate for head thickness. If a seat is gone, replace, if there is a tiny hole, dab of weld etc etc.
If you really want to run it and its not been mashed by pistons and valves, then its almost certainly recoverable.

well im off to stockport tomorrow to get another head ..but i'lll be kepeing this head and inspedcting it to see if it ebayable.

So the oil pissed into the chamber, throught the valve guide?, am i reading that correctly?.

its was probably done by prima ten years ago lol .. itr was sitting on a solen reovered r 19 that winston found... Winston is the real winner in this farce... the next two people oin the chain are losers,,LOL....
