The new V8 engines are reputed to rev to over 20,000 rpm already (less crank twist or something means they cars rev higher), and by the end of next year may see 23-25,000 rpm

These engines run all sorts of exotic metals like berylium to save weight (even though its been banned apparently). They think that with the higher rev limit the new V8's will put out about 850 BHP on their debuts and be pushing 900 BHP by the end of the first year.

This is meant to be a power saving, money saving exercise :?

They use cooling systems in th garage. Isnt that a Brian Hart engine?

They use cooling systems in the garage. As its arrows F1, i would assume its a V10, as they never had V8 under TWR ownership :D . I think that is a Brian Hart engine

Dont think it is, but quite happy to be wrong.

Brians harts v8 engines were only ever run by arrows because the v10 design never came to, funds i would expect as hart never had the dosh for f1. The v8 was rubbish so the '98 hart minardi v10 was to be used as the arrows engine, but never was and hart left f1.

If i'm correct, thats an asiatech v10.....aka peugeot.

Thats what i know of it.

But didnt Brian harts help develop it it?

I remember the V8 V10 fiasco, but i cant remeber what the countcome was?

The pug engine was basically the same unit McLaren ran in 1994?

hart had the drawings for the v10 for a long time before they started making them in 98, but they never ran with arrows due to some money/legal stuff, dont follow anything that close tbh.

I wouldnt be surprised if it was the same base design in the mclaren as rule changes werent as abundant lol. Althought they did make the power when they were working with jordan, being the most powerful at one point.
