Good afternoon chaps,

It’s tyre dilemma time and this time it’s looking like all 4 need doing.
I’m currently running 195/45/15s and love the sharp handling, feel from the road and grip, however a brief gaze through mytyres has left me scratching my head. Having spent a wee while trawling through this site I’ve come to the conclusion that Eagle F1s are the most popular choice and give the best performance, however the £40 price difference (for 4)between a 45 and 50 profile has torn me.
Does the ride, grip and handling vary a substantial amount between the 2 profiles, or is it pretty negligible?
Also, for those with experience of dealing with mytyres, how long does it generally take for the tyres to be delivered and how are they delivered?

Any help is appreciated,

Doug

£40! that per corner?

I run the GSD3's in 195/50 R15 and cant fault them, an excellent tyre and imo i doubt the 45 profile would be that much better!

No, it's roughly £10 difference per tyre so 4 would be about £40 difference in total.

phew, thought that sounded a bit rediculous!

up to you mate, but imo 50's are fine altho i have nothing to compare to having never run 45's

45s Look Better IMO!

50s show too much Tyre and not enough alloy :(

I run the 45 profile on my Valver, no problem with them at all. Second time I have purchased through mytyre and had no problem. I wasn't in the house on the second delivery so the guy had kindly took them all around back and hid them behind the shed. :)

I run Eagle F1's 195 50 15 , really good tyre, although I will be trying the Michelins next as they are similar price to the F1's from costco and I've always loved pilots.

:D

I run 195 50 15's Eagle F1's. They are great all weather tyres. Look sweet on the car too. Only £36 on mytyres.

Ive just got another new set of Toyo Proxie T1-S's!

This is now my second set and i cant fault them at all, They grip forever in the dry.. Not so good in damp conditions but still a very good tyre for the price!

Well guys I bit the bullet today and ordered 4 Goodyear Eagle F1s from mytyres in a 45 profile, which came to £190 for the 4.

I decided that while 50s were probably the more sensible option (from a price and ride point of view), you don’t buy a Williams for sensibility and comfort.

Having gone from Toyos, admittedly worn to slicks for the last couple of weeks to F1s will be an interesting comparison. I’ll let you guys know how I’m getting on with them.
