Story is this:

Mate has a 1.8 XRpooi - ragged to shit, treated like shit, rusted to shit.

Anyway...

His mum wants to spend a couple of k buying him a "reliable, practical, normal car that won't attract police attention"

:? *shakes head*

I wouldn't mind but he's been pulled about twice in the past 15 years

He reckons he can get an Audi A3 for £2k. Yeah right! LOL

What can I suggest that will be subtle yet still decently quick and handle quite well? He can't drive for shit so it needs to have safe handling...

Mk1, Phase 2 1.8 RSi Clio :)

Cheap Insurance, not bad on fuel...looks girly with the front headlights and is very quick.

I will disown him if he buys a vectra LOL

Almera is a good call - Claire, night.icon's missus, had one and said they were great.

Daz has a good point about the 106 though lol

Really not sure what to suggest - I can only really see him in his essex-boy xr2i!

How about an Alfa 146 Cloverleaf, if he doesn't mind having bits fall off or break all the time?

Or a Punto HGT if he only minds a bit.

Or a Mk3 Golf GTi. But they're rubbish.
