MOT failure ABS

Can anyone help me please my car has just been failed because the garage are saying the ABS unit has failed - ie they cant get the light to go out. They say the fault has been traced to the unit and a replacement will cost £1200!!!

The diagonostic gave fault number 14

The part is a Bosch 0265208 047 57 box AAY1 - hope this means something to someone

Does anyone know where I can get a secondhand or refurb from or whether the garage have got it wrong

i thought that if there was something wrong with abs, people usually took the bulb out on the dash???? and pulled the abs fuse out of the fuseboard.....

Yeh I had this on my old valver - In the end I ripped the shit thing out - if its the abs unit it could be worth getting a second hand unit if you want to retain the abs for resale - if your not arsed rip it out!

ai, either bulb and fuse out or as daz says, get a removal block from a hydraulics place and whip the lot out
