just bought a clio 16v and have got a problem with the wheels rubbing the inner archs.

its really low probably about 50/60mm and has clio cup turinis on with 195/45/16's.

i think the main problem is the last owner converted to manual steering and he said as its a rack off a 1.2 it has more lock than the 16v one and this is why it rubs, whats my best option for sorting this as it will fail an mot the way it is.

cheers les.

I think it may be the combination or being very low, having 16's on and iirc the cup turinis have a different offset, 43 or the like.

so its not really anything to do with the rack?

as an aside are all mk1 racks the same ratio?

if so ill probably just get some standard wheels for the mot

easiest fix is to buy some spacers. 5/10mm ones

what about widetracking it, more expensive but i had planned that anyway?

does anyone know about the rack ratios?

yeah that would work as it increases the track buy 34mm. i can,t understand why someone would want to the remove the power steering anyway. so i,d put that back on at the same time as widetracking it. try mat brown or winston for secondhand parts.
