Honestly dont know if cars going to be up to it. Its running, but I havent had a chance to investigate the latest shaft/diff problem yet. It will be ok for normal use , but if I try it on track its going to break in all likelyhood. I am hoping to get it fixed before then, but will be going to FCS regardless.

cant wait to go to the show tbh! see allt he clio williams n 16v/mk1's etc

mark didnt u just fit a diesel box to the clio?

hoping ive finaly got over my driveshaft/box faults! drove the clio today only round block though

Mark_Ritchspeed
21-05-2005, 22:38
Box currently in the Clio is a Kangoo 1.4 van box and yes its only just gone in there. Not had a chance to inspect the problem yet, but it is definitely 1 of 2 things. Nearside driveshaft or play/wear in the diff.

Will have a look on Monday, but I'm praying its just the shaft

The initial test drive went fine, but after really testing it over my test roads (20 mile loop of pure tarmac rally stage) it seems to be suffering from a lack of turn-in into right handers (possibly alignment) and clunking at the same time.

Anyway, still looking forward to FCS and meeting everyone, just hoping the car will be fit enough for track work.

ah bugger, had simular problems myslef, the n/s shaft one of the bearings on end broke off , would drive ok in a line but second i tuned a corner it popped out and makde alot of loud banging noises and managed to break 2 gearbox mounts!! hopefully will be ok now!! :)

Mark_Ritchspeed
21-05-2005, 22:53
Yep, its kind of what I am expecting. Sounds and feels like an inner joint problem, so will have to drain the box again and remove the shaft to inspect.

One of the problems with using 2nd hand parts I suppose.
