Hi all,

Ive just recieved my renewal for my wiliams 2, its come in at £446 tpft with 1 named driver.....

I have 10 NCB, I am 29 years old , sales forecaster, live in En11 hertforsdhire, parked on the road, no accidnets for 6 years, cat 1 alarm, declared mods as different wheels and exhaust.

named driver is my brother, 24 years old, no accidents 5 years ncb.

Does this sound ok? company is HIC been with them for 10 years!

Thanks in advance

sounds steep. i,m a bit older but payed that fully comp. have you tried fully comp as sometimes its not any more expensive plus you get better cover eg windscreens third party on other cars etc. only paying 600 on the turbo maxi.

Seems a bit steep to me mate for TPFT.

You should be able to get Fully Comp with your record for that price.

Try more than, theyre the ones.

I know ive not got a williams, but I have a 16v, 3yrs NCB, 25yrs old, and its £432 fully comp with free breakdown cover, courtesy car and loads of goodies.

Im PR1 which is a shit postcode too for insurance.

definitely steep... if thats just the standard renewal quote then it always helps to ring them up and say if they can't better it you'll go elsewhere.

HIC = Highway? If so then the lowest you can ever get on a williams is 400quid. Same with Flux.

Shop around and get some quotes, I'm paying £309 Fully Comp with Churchill this year. 25, 3 points, 7yrs ncb.

yeah seems high. Churchill £360 fully comp 24, 6 years NCB, mods are exhaust.

Is the churchill advertising campaign's 'we guarantee to beat your current quote' true?

I see theyre running big ads at the moment.

i pay 265 fully comp with adrian flux (highway) i'm not allowed any named drivers under 25 though, that is likely why yours is higher. i'm 28 with 6 NC in cambridge with a williams 1.

hope that helps

A lot of companies use the same sorta thing, even Flux state they will guarantee to beat your renewal quote. I don't think a big insurance company like Churchill would be advertising like that unless they could actually do it.

yeah norwich wouldn't insure me being under 25 on a willy. Stupid whenn churchill will do me for under £400.

seems steep for your age and the ncb

i am 23, 3 yers ncb, on a valver with mods my renewal quote was £580
i rang around a bit and then my existing insurer then beat it again (flux / highway)

ended up paying £410 fc

Last year was the same, had a high renewal rang them up and gave them some ear ache 'been at this company for 9 years' bla bla bla and they reduced it for me....

Thanks for your examples guys, not sure how mod friendly churchhill will be?? also do all these companys insist on seeing the alarm/imob certificate ?

I wont be keeping the williams for much longer so must take into consideration the next car i want when renewing, thinking about getting a Amg c36 or a m3 e36.....

seems a bit high for only 3rd party
i find fully comp is some times only 20-30 more sometimes cheaper

im 36 payin 650 with 4yncd
its mainly down to your postcode + insurance group
mine sucks on both counts so get raped every year

end of the day its a friggin lottery on the day
it winds me up
they seem to just think of a number and times it by what ever
my last lot of quotes went from 1600 to 650
ring loads

try policy shop if you mention that I (James Baker) recommended you then think you get some sort of reward as do I

23 with 2yr NCD 3 points all mods declared £640 full comp.

I second wavy as flux renwal was over £1300  so over halved cost :D by phoning round narrowing it down as they wouldn't go lower then keep playing them off each saying this one has quoted me this etc etc..

Hey just tryed churchill, for exactly the same except they couldnt do it for my brother as a named driver as he was 24 not 25 came up for £1200 tpft......yes 1200, told them ive just got a mortgage for my house and now i need one for my car!!! lol

They said they couldnt do that price beat as my brother is 24 and they dont do mods for under 25's....

Happy days, just renewed my policy with HIC for the 10th year running (must be a reccord) lol

As ive just bought a house and plan to move in i got them to requote with the edition of using a garage and secure parking at work, little bity of haggling too and...

£350 tpft

With 24 year old brother on it
Drive any cars on policy also

Pretty chuffed with that, did get a quote on hopefully my next car an AMG merc and it was £735 tpft or 1000 full comp which i though was pretty good for a more powerfull motor...

No more insurance worries for a year, they even emailed me all the documents how good is that!
