Space in the bay a bit tight?- Well you don't have to worry, here is a method to relocate the battery to the boot.

Why Relocate??

1) fit a charge cooler for turbo applications/ inter cooler pipework.
2) fit a modified induction set up...
3) Cheesy Racing Mod.

Parts required:

2 x battery terminals
1 x Battery Tray
2 x J bolts
1 x Top Clamp
6 Bolts with a shallow head with nuts
1 x drill Bit- size to your own spec
4/5 metres of 0 gauge audio power cable / battery cable
1 x 12/24v junction boxM8 Ring Terminals
Crimping tool
Heat Shrink
P clips
Hack saw

1) Obtain a battery tray £12.50 from Me Delivered...obtain J bolts and a top clamp via ebay. Remove boot carpet, spare wheel + cage.

2) Position your battery tray in the boot, area of your choice, making sure you can drill through the floor and access the bolts from underneath the car...ie not drilling over the bias valve etc...... the red square plates you can see below act as washers....

3) Obtain you J-Bolts....you may need to hack saw the shaft down and bend a J shape...so the bolts are the correct size for your battery...fit the bolts in to the clamp and add the wing nuts...

Now the hard part of the job is out of the way you can move on to the wiring phase.... I used Welders Wire.. but for the purpose of a professional guide and installation i would recommend 0 gauge audio power cable... or the battery power cable from Demon Tweaks...

You need to route the 12v Battery live feed through the bulk head, and clip it behind the same near side floor trim as the rear wiper pipe runs.
Route it directly in to the boot. For neatness once in to the boot you can use P clips. Naturally fit the battery terminal to the end of the live feed in the boot... don't place on the battery at this stage!
The engine bay side of the wire- Terminate it with an M8 ring terminal...

Move to the Engine bay of the car.... You will need to extend the loom 12v power feed by 1/2 metre.. do this with a crimping tool and heat shrink. Terminate the end with an M8 Ring terminal.

Find the starter motor live feed...it will be double wired in to 1 x square terminal with a hole in it.. You may need to dremel the square off slightly to fit in to the junction box...

You will now have 3 x live wires with ring terminals on in your engine bay..

you will need to fix them all together.... u should use a junction box, which is around £5-7..availiable on ebay or other electrical stockists...

JUNCTION BOX

place the 3 ring terminals over the bolts and tighten the nuts up... fix the junction box using a self tapping screw
in to the bulk head or side of suspension turret (off side)

So your live feeds are all connected.... you will then need to go back in the boot... earth the negative 12v battery wire in to the chassis/seatbelt mounting hole....place battery terminal on....

Place the battery in the tray and clamp up.... you can also fit a shroud / battery cover over the tray..... or discard the tray method and used a flimsy and expensive battery box.

As you can see this method enables the battery to be extremely secure in the boot area...connect up and go.
