After having borderline pressures, Stan kindly delivered in person an oil pump to me today which I have now fitted. On my way back from work, oil pressure was excellent am very happy.

80*C 3,000rpm @ 4bar!!
80*C 3,500rpm @ 4.2Bar!!

Idle at 80*C gives me exactly 1Bar but the guage. Thanks for the help getting the pump Craig, once again you are a total legend!

Easy enough if the engines out, can still do it with engine in but just awkward getting sump on/off.

Not to bad, I've done it a few times in my life and not just on clio's. In the sump...Took me about 3 hours to do today most of that time was preping the oil pump and sump/block surface for resealing. I found it much easier to leave the sub frame where it is and;

-Remove Top engine mount (o/s), Dog bone mount (and slacken R19 mount if fitted) obviously support engine
-Remove downpipe
-Remove o/s/r wheel and tie bar (sub frame to wheel arch bar - improves access)
-DRAIN OIL :lol:
-Remove 4X gearbox bell housing lower bolts and thread
-Jack engine up to reasonable limit
-Remove all the T40 bolts (have fun!)
-Leaver engine towards passenger side (I did this by applying pressure to a leaver bar that was located between the top of the wheel arch and the crank pulley bolt) and remove sump at the same time.

Oil pump is on the drivers side under plastic baffles. Remove 4XT30's for first cover and then remove 4X10mm bolts. Twist the oil pump and pull off spline

Thats the way i did it mate except i took the o/s/F wheel off instead lol(small things and small minds), the hardest torx bolt to get to at the rear corner rounded too

Best bit was id already had the bolts out and back in once as id put new big end bearings on to realise they were the wrong size, it was when i took it off again that it rounded so i cant even blame it on the previous d*ck head that over-tightened them :lol:

lol yeah stupid crap. I used the air gun on the bolts I could get to and they all came off. Torque is 25nm iirc but dont quote me on that. The biggest pain in the ass was the first time I had to drop the sump, 1 of the T40's that sit in the recess near the bell housing rounded and seriously, you wouldn't have wanted to hear the naughty words I used then, god damn :lol: I drilled it out, only took about 10min's 8)
