Just wondering if these cars burn oil even when running fine, as i did hear b4 that they burn oil every few thousands miles. this morning i noticed my oil had dropped to about 3/4 full but tbh i havnt checked it for a good few days while starting the engine, any ideas???

They burn oil as standard.
My old J reg was terrible, max to min in 1000 miles or so, but i think that had an early style dipstick.
My N reg is much much better for oil consumption, max to min in about 6000 miles by the looks of things, but the dipstick is different.
Any engine can burn oil to a certain degree. The factory spec for (new) VAG engines is 1 litre per 1000 miles, anything under that is deemed ok and thats some oil usage when you think about it!
my gauge does this sometimes too, its a mis-reading. turn the ignition off and back on and it flicks back to full....
Read the sticker in the top right of the windscreen as your sat in the car.

i dotn have 1! :?
sorry,
It says........ the high performance engine fitted to this vehicle requires the oil level to be checked and topped up regulary, check your level gauge on each start.
IE- These engines burn oil so check your levels regular.
