Thinking about putting a willy engine into the valver. what will have to be changed? eg can i use the valver loom and gearbox . i know i need a ecu and manifold+downpipe. is there anything else alternator, starter?

yes starter if you use the willy flywheel.

Are the flywheels different between the F7P/F7R then? I've got a few of each so will have to be careful not to muddle them up if that's the case!

It's correct you need a different starter for sure though as the strengthening veins on the back of the F7R block mean that the (larger) valver starter motor doesn't fit on.

yes they must be. and i think i,m correct in that you can use the ten tooth willy starter on either flywheel but you can,t use the nine tooth 16v starter on a willy flywheel.

a F7R will run on a standard valver ecu fine mate.

can someone right me a quick list of what im best to change whilst the engine is out and also what will have to be change do to being different.

Also does anyone have any tips when removing the engine

water pump cambelt tensioners clutch if its worn. oil filter.

right im going to order the parts that i will need this week as ive just been paid :P

Im getting a new starter and alternator, Ive read people on about brakets and heat shield (for startermotor) do i need these where can i get these from?renault?

Ive sourced a manfold just need downpipe got a ecu.

Im also going to get all the other basics such as plugs, filter cambelt, etc.

is there anything thing else that im going to have to change when i swap the engines

try mat brown or winston for the heatshields. if your doing a cambelt might be worth doing the water pump at the same time.

so do the valver starters not have these and are the brackets different?
