hey im sure this has been asked a million time but...
wanted to know what oil people use in their valvers.
Im using 10-40 gtx stuff
Seems a bit tappy when i start up on cold then clears up.
I used 5-30 before but it seemed to drink quite alot.
Also what brands do people use?

Comma 5-40w stuff gave good pressure and performance. Didn't use much more than 10-40w either.

Good value for money too.

That oil + genuine Ren oil filter = best.

thanks guys yea im kinda stuck between the 5-40 and 10-40 it was 5-40 i used before not 5-30 as i said. but seemed to drink quite a bit (to all valvers seem to do this?)i normally change my oil every 3-4k might give the 5-40 comma a go see what thats like. Then one of those 10-40s you said after.

5-30 wrong oil for that engine in so amny ways 10 w 40 is the standard oil for engine and if it has been run on 10 40 stick with it do not go thinner oil it will drink it..

between changes ie 3000 miles i will top up 1-2 lt on 10w 40 and thats with a 40k engine from standard.

10w-40 or 5w-40 fully synthetic should be fine regardless of the mileage in a healthy F7R. As said earlier, it might blow off about 1 litre of oil every few thousand miles travelled depending on how hard you work the engine.

IMHO, if you change oil regularly every 3k miles or less, the quality of oil is less important as it hasn't had time to break down much. Just make sure the oil you buy have API/ACEA ratings: SL or SM/A3 or A5 along with as many independent ratings on the tin as you can find.
