Has anybody heard of this company? Just i picked an engine up yesterday with my williams, and from what i can see it's a 1.8 16v engine bored to a 2.0 :? with this companies stickers all over it :?

Anyway, some pictures -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/peteh/williams003.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/peteh/williams002.jpg

what makes me think it maybe a special one, it has a pair of these babies  -
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/peteh/williams001.jpg

also a nice oil cooler, these aren't standard are they? :?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/peteh/williams004.jpg

and the engine tag if you look closely, it's had 2.0l stamped into it -

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/peteh/williams008.jpg

any ideas, are they still trading so i can ring them? Think it's a leicestershire code.

won't be going in the williams, that'll staying standard, it's quick enough!!

do you think he'll know the engine from the engine number? or the car reg it was in? just the car was written off :(

looks a good buy that. as with piper adjustable verniers you would assume its got a pair of there cams and and an external oil cooler which is not standard that could be a special lump. hopefully with headwork as well. could do with seeeing all the engine number plate as the important bit the engine code is not able to be seen in that pic. then i could tell you more about the original capacity etc.

with just a chip, that same induction kit,4 brank manifold and exhaust my old one would hit the limiter in 5th from a standing start in half a minute....

hope that gives u an idea of his work ;)

i saying its prob a genuine 2.0 mate coz nick has a few of them in stk usually and it would be so much easier to rebuild a 2.0 (like he did with mine) than bore a 1.8

oh and engine plates can be transfered from engine to engine too...

katbloke
08-04-2007, 16:17
Awful company, that induction kit is rubbish ill give ya a fiver for it to save you risking running it.

Cracking company really only joking :D , thats prob the best IK for a valver/williams

Soz mate, yeh all these k & n kits draw hot air in from under the bonnet where as the hillpower one draws it in from the front using the original feed i believe

peteh
08-04-2007, 17:09
i wondered what that was

i saw the original feed pipe still on the williams, and the blue casing has the hole at the bottom, see what old hoses i have sitting around to fit

nice find, how much did u get the engine for then?

From what I can see of the engine plate "22" would assume that it's an F7P 722 (1.8 16v).

A genuine williams would be F7R 700, or a megane (same bottom end) F7R 710 and F7R 714.

Doesn't mean to say it isn't 2.0l though as it definitely looks like 2.0l is pressed in or something, which isn't standard either. So Nick has some jiggery pokery going on inside.

Oil cooler, piper verniers, probably cammed with headwork as maxiboy said earlier... Do you have the ECU for this as it's probably mapped to suit the engine.

adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and ooooooooooo is that an ECOTEK device I see ?!

I wouldn't be certain HP built that engine - you can buy all those bits separately from them or elsewhere.

ive had some help from someone on here, and yes it's was originally a 1.8 16v, so means it must have had some work done to the block and main caps for a different crank to make it 2.0l maybe :?

im hoping to get in contact with the lady i brought it off next week and ask if she still has the ecu as her son dropped a clanger when i was picking it all up, apparently they have doors and wheels in the garage, so maybe a box with an ecu in it, worth a call 8)

im going to sell it on so don't really wana say how much i paid, but ive been told what it's worth

would the exhaust prts have been flowed aswell as the inlet? as that exhaust manifold shouldn't be to hard to take off and ill get some more pics

ive had all my work done by hillpower ( http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/garage.php?mode=browse&search=yes&user=jay s ) would'nt worry to much about the engine tag as mine says f7p 722 even tho its a 2.0ltr ( f7r ). if you could get some pics of the back of the block under the exh manifold, we should be able to see if its a 2.0ltr from there......

itll have to be another day mate, im at work all day now :( had a look yesterday but couldn't see much, is there a way of telling from the block or something?

the numbers on the tag under the inlet are as you said f7p e722, and co19234 but inbetween using a etching tool it's had NDHC 2.0l put in.

cheers mate, took me ages to find out what i was looking at

so if mine hasn't got these strengthening veins, it's a 1.8 block, but if it's been converted to the 2.0 with the 2.0 crank then it'll still look the same yeah?

what does everybody think it's worth, how it is at the mo?

not sure if i can be doing with the hassle of taking it over to leicester, just wana concentrate on getting the williams on the road, ive taken the gearbox off now, so it can go as a bare block/head, and i can sell the oil cooler, fse boost valve thingy and gearbox after, by the way.................................

the clutch is like brand new 8) , so i don't think the engine has been built that long

Well the manifold on that engine is from a 1.8 16v engine (F7P), although they're easily swappable so could still be a 2.0l!
