Highering My Bonnet...

Right, summer is just around the corner and as we all know clio's get v hot under the bonnet.

I remember someone suggesting a few months ago highering the bonnet to let more air in and that it does make a difference.

What do we think?

Worth it for any gains?

How do I go about it?

Helps the heat to escape quicker.
Depends if you have the patience for all your mates to keep saying 'your bonnets open mate' every few minutes with an annoying grin on their faces! :lol:

Does an IK contribute to a significant amount of heat generated under the bonnet?

no but lots if IK,s draw in the warm air as the are not sealed or supplied enough cold dense air from in front of the car.

go for one of the 'light weight' bumpers and rig up cold air feeds to the engine bay, not necessarily to the IK but to the engine itself, while you are at it get rid of the blanked of air holes on the bumper and direct some feeds to the brakes! yeah baby, cold air overload! haha

An several cold air feeds make a difference overall do they?

The clio keeps it's cool quite well as long as the cooling system is working fine. I would suggest performing a radiator flush and make sure that the radiator fan cuts in when the radiator gets hot. Also make sure the battery/alternator is healthy as the radiator fan will be making them work quite hard.

I just flushed mine this week and added a new fan switch as mine died :S i wouldnt worry about raising up the bonet juet get some cold air feeds in and you will be fine, im sure renault would have made it already raised if it needed it
