Probably because the ones they (goodridge) supply for the williams are too short and get stretched at full lock.
Mat.
now that is a concern! ive got some but i aint had em put on yet(been a year now lol) now i might not bother at all??
check them for length against the standard ones before fitting

I've heard of them failing a few times on several types of car. Hence why I'd never fit them. They usually fail at the ends though.
hmm i've got a set sitting in my garage, not fitted yet... kinda makes me not want to bother when reading this.
 Had mine on for a year and a half and no problems as yet..........
just need to make sure they are long enough and not 2 short !

So if goodridge ones are too short/unreliable, what are the alternatives?

I can't see them being unreliable, they must have been fitted wrong for them to burst. The alternatives are getting a custom set knocked up via either goodridge themselves or http://hosesolutions.org.uk/ (Ben at hose solutions will know what you want if you tell him you want clio 16v ones but slightly longer)

Spits at the union at what I've always heard happens.
I had my passnger side re-routed to pass its mot - the guy said its slightly too short - think I'll be getting a full set of custom lines made up
I your having problems, try contacting Matthew Potter at THINK AUTOMOTIVE ~~ He used to race Clios, does a good deal   on all the braided hoses, fastenings etc for brake lines as well as Fuel lines etc  He will make up your hoses to any length.
