Unfortunatly this is not the best picture of it

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peterj.jones/Hosted%20Stuff/Exhaust%20Hanger.jpg

And this is the hanger on the exhaust:

On my mount i have it held on by bolts, and have spacer plates behind it to bring it out to the hanger on the exhaust, and i have welded a washer onto the end of the clamp bar to stop the rubber slipping off if it isnt perfectly alined.

Heres a paint special of the plate if its any use.

No worrys.
Its a Williams so it came with the mount, but i had to drill this mount off the car.
Because the hanger on the exhaust didnt line up with the hanger on the car so i modified it to suit.
Its worth putting the washer on the end of the hanger imo as where it is, it can come off. If there wasnt enough tension on it.

Really good mount though, as it stops the exhaust hanging low as you can see.
Shame not many exhausts come with that hanger though.

do you think its likely that a valver would have holes on the body to mount such a plate if it was made, as the bar welded to the exhaust is the easy part

BRUN,

I very much suspect that valvers have the holes as required on the tunnel.

If not, then buy the mount plate (should be a standard reno part - sorry don't have dialogys) and drill holes as appropriate, it would be very easy to do, as access is very easy once the exhaust is off. Probably even be able to do it with the exhaust on.

See this attachment for the location of the holes.

This is the underside of ARJ's old valver, so means valvers are drilled with those holes.

You can clearly see the reinforcement plate where the two holes should be. This is where you bolt the extra mount to.

Here's some pics of my center section hanger - and this is on my Valver. Not something i've ever added, and i doubt the previous owner ever did..

That looks like an aftermarket hangar that comes with an exhaust system.

It's a '94 valver. M reg.

The K-TEC exhaust i took off before fitting the mongoose didnt use this hanger, so must've been an exhaust before then i guess..

I'll have to check to see if it's welded or bolted on.

It will be bolted in at a guess, looks like the one that comes with a magnex, even has the rubber they supply on it still.

It's a phase 2 clio williams. 12-year old exhaust unchanged from factory (except the cat). If it's wrong (won't be surprised that it is), shoot the Renault assembly worker! :)
