thort it was 1.56....my bad

04-04-2007, 07:55
bloody hell they are shifting - thats a 1.28 lap

The guy i bought it off says his best ever was a 1.56 - he lent it Julian Baliey who did a 1.52 in it on the 3 lap out of 5. Just goes to show.

Watching some new footage i have - the practice lap times at Brands for my car is 52.0 - with a passenger i was doing 1.00's.

Got times for donnington, snetterton and brands now....still not seen mine on the 1993 footage yet. Scotts is doing well though. Top 6 finish in one race.

I thought it was that track too, 2live. Wasn't the guy adament it was the full circuit though, Northy? Must admit, it would seem about right then - Oulton is twice the length of Brands and the time difference seems to be about twice as much (i.e. 8-sec difference at Brands, 16-sec difference at Oulton).

Good vid anyway. Using all the track and more

he said it was the full circuit.

No video evidence unfortunalty.

i have a 1993 season now on vhs - im hopeful oulton is on there. going to watch it tonight. carnt wait !

Come on number 28 !

watched my video last night and what did i see

Nearly fell off my chair. So excited i nearly watched it on fast forward first.

Anyway - the course looks the same in 93 as it does today in 07 - bar a few saftey barriers.

Lap times are as follows for the qualifiying. Couldnt get a accurate race time as the camera angles kepy changing.

So - this 1.56 does look doubtfull now - especially as there is no video evidence.

Lying sod was trying to make you crash the car by beating his 'time' Northy

05-04-2007, 08:31
well - he might be that good mate :winkey:

05-04-2007, 08:42
seems more realistic lol.... 2:02 is still very quick indeed

good effort..............but not that much quicker than a std willy ;)

seriously tho....i reckon if he did do a 1.56/1.52....then the 1st vid is the the track used. id say theres no way that car did the ful circuit in that time tbh. but then im no racing driver lol.

dont forget the williams were not out when these were racing originally 1991 - 1995 and they are powered by a F7P with cat on.

yes mate.

but still.....shows how good the williams' are then really...lapping almost as quick as the cup cars.

lot lighter, more susp mods, slicks, fully balanced internals, few more mods.

and with a more experienced driver at the wheel.

yet only a few seconds a lap quicker than a std williams with a novice behind the wheel.

if thats not convinced u to 2.0 it.........i dont know wot will lol.

I dont think they are lighter mate - should see the underbody guards and cage....bet they weigh alot.

Its staying 1.8 mate - dont need to 7R to enjoy it !

lol^^^^ lightened glass, no seats, no sound deadening either is there??

seats alone u lookin at 30+ kgs..which is about the weight of ur cage...then u have no s/d which on mine was 21kgs and lightened glass.which could be another 15-20 kgs.

would have to be some seriously thick heavy duty guards to weigh that much.

lol....more speed..........more fun ;)

05-04-2007, 11:45
only interior mine is missing is a carpet mate. oh and the sound deadening.

Will see if i can get it on the scales next time im movin it.
