nay chance fellow!

you'll soon see the power of the schmams... you need to go in a cam'd F7R to really appreciate what it does. 2 lives car and Martins will both be doing mid 5's if not lower to 60mph!!! MASSIVE difference!!! Get em Rob, they wont disappoint ;)

how much would it cost roughly in total for the cams and to get them fitted and set up...??

I paid £570 for new Kent Cams, Timing Disc,Followersand Lube  and I'm getting them fitted/timed for £150, hoping Chip Wizards will do me, Northy and Jesus a discount on the remap, top whack im told by 2live for remap is £350

You can get your cams reprofiled to the same spec by kent and the full kit would cost £320ish then add fitting, so thats a cheaper way of doing it.

Don't think there is any problems using second hand cams, afterall thats what Northy has, and if there were any for sale on monday I would of bought them, but there wasn't so I had to buy new.

I bought mine from this place very helpful http://www.rsmmotorsport.co.uk/

personally i'd speak to BenR about the cams, has a decent rage and the specs are amazing.

Fitted mine tonight (didnt get back from the garage until 9-45) and run them for a few minutes. Also got mine from Ben.

Will give them a good bedding in tomorrow, before taking it for a ragging.

can you do it in stages ie

buy cams fit them
then later on get em timed
then get a remap

or would that twat me car

Mine are fitted and running on standard timing at the moment and it fired up first turn of the key. I'm doing mine in stages and will time them in, in a few weeks.

In other words when I can be bothered.b

A raised rev limit will help though.

what is the down side there must be one ?

J o n
17-05-2005, 22:59
ditto, running mine on std engine timing and it's as fast as my m8's Scooby and leaves CTR's pretty easy... ask yer bro about it's scooby and ctr slaying ;) hehe, he's still getting me back for that!

cant see a downside, it's running less aggressive than timed in ones, only gains aint as high so only better things to come :D

When is Rich getting his fitted? I think Monkey's are going in next week so I doubt he'll leave it too long|! lol The drive to FCS is gonna be fun :D

Mark_Ritchspeed

Yeh, it'll be fun for you lot, but I'll be doing about 7000rpm at about 120mph. Wonder if I can just take a-roads the whole way.

Andy

Yep mine should hopefully be in next week, you reckon I'll notice the difference without the remap?

Martin
17-05-2005, 23:19
Well Jesus has certainly been impressed with his and they are'nt even timed in and 2live ran 14.4 when his was running stnd map! I reckon you will notice an improvement especially if you are running in convoy with 5 or 6 other willys!

yep u shud notice a diff without the map.......i didnt but i hadnt drove the car for 3 months so it just felt as quick to me, until i pitted it up against the other willies on the peaks run, i then realised it was a bit quicker than it was b4 the cams lol

the re-map jus finished it off nicely

btw i was running mine on standard map for about 6 months........only thing that hampered it was the redline ...and ken at re said it was runnin a little lean at the top end, not dangerously lean, but enuff to make a diff

they deffo make a difference, my car ran the same speed on the bridge test as Mehdi's black valver that ran 14.4's, but that had remap and no cams and the usual breathing mods. i'll be happy with anything around 14.5 or lower after timing and remap, as either way it will be faster than most cars on the road once moving :D
