Yes, a classic video. I even incorporated that vid into a business presentation couple of years ago. :D

My personal faves was the Mikkola/Mouton combo during the early eighties and their ridiculously fast Quattros, of course. But it look like the best rally driver of all-time, with the way accolades are going his way, might turn out to be a gymnast-turn-rally driver, inarticulate frenchman named Sebastian! But old heroes will never fade away.

Purple,
The guy who was an all round nice guy   (to me anyway) has to be Juha Kannkunen ~~ a real cool dude ~~~ and a bl**dy quick driver   .See him at service ~~ once out of the car, lights a fag up,and chats to the spectators
Yeah, whatever you say about the Frenchman~~ much akin to Hakkinen in F1,struggles to put 2 words together, but in the car ~~ WOW

Juha Kannkunen ~~ a real cool dudeI could not agree more. I used to go to Perth WRCs and he was 1 of the few big name drivers who strolls around the service areas, while the rest of them hide in their caravans or tents. And who can forget his always funny interviews, "What kind of tyres are you using?" "Black round Pirellis" :-)

My fave spectator-friendly driver has got to be the late Possum Bourne. :( An instantly likeable kiwi who behaved more like a easy-going bartender than a WRC driver! Came to the local races quite often and can flip from dead serious to non-stop yapping with anyone in an instant. Was unbeatable in Asia-Pacific rallies but didn't quite get to the sharp end of WRC rankings.

Purple are you a "Kiwi" ?? I have a mate coming over this summer from the Hawkes Bay area    ~~ he was a big noise at the LEVIN race circuit :D :D .
I got to know him in 1979,when he was Chief mechanic, with a 2 car team of Gp.2 Ford Escorts ,who were sponsored by the "London Woolbrokers " :D and they came over to do the RAC tht year. One of the drivers was Malcolm Campbell ~~ but I have lost contact with him

<<<--- My location coordinates will take you to Singapore, where I live :) I used to go to Australia quite a bit but never been to NZ. It's about same distance/price to London, so why would I go NZ? :) Bourne's own workshop used to support some of our local Subaru race teams, so he came over quite often.
