How do you remove the larger pipe from the rack union?

Surely you don't have to drop the subframe? Anyone done this before or have any ideas?

Thanks..

best thing is to just take the rack off mate. me and matt (clowo16v) spent ages fannying around and itsa much faster job just to take the rack off mate, only need to undo track rod ends, pinch bolt and the 2 brakcets and it will slide out the wheelarch

Which side does it slide out?

I've undone the subframe brackets, rod ends and pinch bolt and it won't slide out on the n/s due to a pipe fouling on the chassis. Trying to pull it out the otherside isn't working either as it is hitting on the gearbox.

Do i need to drop the subframe?

Thanks
