yeah, i know he has big wheels on it aswell, they dont help the bearings

Typically on cars bigger and wheels that are spaced out tend to put more stress on the hub so wear the wheel bearing quicker. This is a real problem on 'classic' mini's with 13" wide wheels, some needing to be replaced every 6 months to a year!

Does sound like wheel bearing, had one done on the rear of mine last week, mine sounded like a droning noise, seemed to come and go at different speeds...
