As some of you know i've been working on my car this week preparing the engine to come out.

The engine needs to come out as its due a cambelt change, needs a new clutch, and i'm also having some new tappets fitted to stop it tapping like an old fiesta! Should be lovely and smooth when it's all finished!

I'm also installing a new clutch cable, a Renault 19 gearbox mount to prevent engine rock, and other bits and bobs along the way.

I won a K&N IK on Ebay today for £15, so that'll be going in, in place of the standard airbox, for a more meaty sound.

Anyway, here's some progress pics from the last couple of days. I started it on Saturday at 1pm until 6pm, then again today from 4pm to 6pm, and considering i've never taken the engine out myself before, i thought that's pretty good going!

All thats left to do now is to undo the engine mounts and hoist it out, but i need to arrange borrowing an engine crane from the garage down the road, then she'll be out!

I've left the battery in for the time being as that's powering the internal electronics (alarm..), as i didn't fancy leaving my car unlocked lol. The battery will stay in even when the engine is out to keep it secure.

Anyway, i'm really pleased with how smoothly everything went, only snapped one bolt, and only had trouble getting 2 bolts out holding my caliper on, the rest of them were fairly easy to undo as it's not been long since it was put in, so thats good!

Looking forward to getting her back on the road, i miss it like f***!

Cheers for looking [smilie=laugh.gif]
