Lots of bits that i didnt know i had, been interesting exploring the car n having a good look over the underside and engine bay etc, on my travels found a split outer CV boot (nearside) so patched that up, also found:

how the side exit is hung

Been a learing experience as tbh i had no idea how it all plumbed together, know how they work in basic terms but great to get up close and personal!!

Looks a nice, tidy well done conversion, I have seen a lot that have been "thrown" together.

Very cool 8)

I dont understand anything under the Pulsars engine bay, feel completely lost without my clio engine lol

What size exhaust is on that? Pulsars also have T28 turbos, and use 2.5" pipe from turbo back, otherwise they are down on power...

problem is the bigger the turbo usually means the more turbo lag

For a fwd car I learnt that what you need is a high comp engine with a small turbo, having a low cr and a big turbo in a small fwd car is just pointless. The Clio is not really the fastest car out there but it handles, stick a big turbo on there and you just lost your handling.

erm.....wrong!

handles well enough for me!

altho tbh i agree on a part of that, a smaller turbo would be benficial, this one only spools up useable at around 4k rpm up to 7.5k limiter.

Before I had the Clio I was running a Peugeot 205 GTI. I fitted it with a 2.0 turbo engine from a Citroen xantia activa. Standard running .5 bar it produces 150bhp with a cat. Mine was running a 2wd cossie intercooler and a single silencer system with no cat. I had it running at 1 bar which would probrably have seen me running around 180bhp? (never tested, although people belive it would be around the 200bhp mark)
It only had a t25 turbo which was pretty small, the engine was designed as a poor mans v6, pushing plenty of torque.
The engine its self was pretty low comp and so off boost it is a bit lazy, it totaly ruined the way my 205 drove.

depends there,s a few of us running t25 boosted clio,s. as you said yours was a different engine designed for torque. ours are clio engines designed to come on boost early and deliver a wide power band as per the original only with more power across the board and possibly a higher range of rpm.

will a t3 be any good?

lewis

a t3 usually has the wastgate on the turbo elbow rather than the housing itself as the t2/25/28 does so problems occur finding the right angled exhaust elbow for the clio location.
