Right im sick to death of scraping over every sodding speedhump i come to and inside edge tyre wear... thinking about using my koni adjustables with 172 springs on the front, with koni dampers on the rear and standard torsion bar height, maybe a set of polybushes on the ARB

Anyone think this will handle ok? want it to ride like a standard car but handle like a lowered one

I reckon most will say...

Willy track with AVO coilovers, but leave the coilovers as high as possible or at standard height :P

Went to tour of cornwall tonight, got stuck on a speedhump, and took 15 mins to negotiate 100yds of bumpy lane, im fed up with scraping up the underside of my car it's going back up on the back

one spline on the back, for some reason this one scrapes more than the other 2 lowered ones ive had.... proper bottoms out!!

iv only ever drove my williams at normal height so havnt seen the benefits of lowered /coilovers
but with standard height speed bumps are no problem railway crossings n stuff can be a blast :D i dont worry about scraping at any speed
i dont use it for track but for every day i think its the obvious choice
with what your talkin about using i think it would be a good combo
172 are only 2mm shorter i think

get your rear shocks changed mate, sounds like they may be badgered!

my old valver was silly low but never bottomed out even on speed humps or god awful sheffield roads

personally i'd go for a lowered/coilovered set up.

Sure your exhuast is sitting nice and high?
Being too low does loose its novelty quick tho.

It isnt now after last night, will get it on the ramp after work monday and raise the back end and fix the exhaust, it'll have to wait for 172 springs till i find some!

Theres quite a few topics about exhaust fitment.
Imo the extra mount next to the cat sorts out the centre section sagging.

I'm currently runing my hybrid on standard springs and koni adjustable shocks. I have to say I was quite surprised at how good the handling is considering its standards ride height. I'm thinking of going a bit lower, possibly on coilovers though.

my 16v is running on coilovers and is very low(ask coops/winston etc) and it dont bottom out on anything, yes speedbumps are a pain but ive worked out how to tackle them!

also my car is used for track mainly and is my 2nd car but still cant fault it

oh yeah, widetrack and avo coilovers lol :P
