clean burn ecotek powerboost/fuel saver valves, more interested in the fuel saving part, anyone got/used one of these, do they work, are they worth having?? the theory seems reasonable, but anyone can spattle bullsh*t and make it sound good!!

You'd be better off smoking the money.
This was one of the first mods I did on my Valver getting it in 2001.
Got it fitted by Stealth Motorsport in Southam (VW Specialists) and they followed Nick Read's guide on Cliosport.
I always found I got more miles per a tank with it on than off. It is still attached to the Hybrid engine I have now but think I have it switched off.
Getting 360 miles out of a full tank now and used to get nearer 400 on the old 1.8 with it switched on. I may turn it back on next time I fill up to see if it helps me get more than the 360 I am currently getting on my Hybrid.
Lots of people say they don't work. I find mine did. Only concern is how it works and if it leans mixture at all. Not wanting to upset my remap/new engine.

Mine worked, in that I got more mpg. It also made the brakes less efficient and I got concerned about running lean.
"..made the brakes less efficient.."
How so? Did it take a vacuum feed from the brake servo?

Yep. It generally site close the the inlet manifold in the vacuum pipe which runs between the fanny mould and the brake servo.
