i painted some wheels about 2-3 weeks ago, these were painted as they should have been, ie sanded, primered, sanded, painted, lacquered, etc then left to cure for a week before going on the car, they have now been on the car for a week and they seem to almost be clouding slightly, like a white mist.

anybody got any ideas why and also how i can clean / avoid this?

Id say the paint has reacted with the road salt perhaps?

it sounds like your paint didnt dry enough thats the build up under your clear coat doing that, else if you have used traffic film or other chems clear coat might have reacted

sounds interesting allan, am pretty sure it was dry enough but cannot be sure now i spose.

its called blooming. Usually a paint reaction with dampness in the atmosphere when you sprayed the wheels. If you where spraying in non ideal conditions this can happen.

painted when too cold, warm with a hot air gun or hair drier first

Give it another coat of colour mate.

as katbloke said....wheels need to be heated up to set the paint properly!

i am getting different views from everyone, the above sounds interesting aswell

i spoke to a sprayer tonight and he said that when i compound polished them after they cured that i could of removed the lacquer by doing so, so i should go ver them with it again and then re laquer the wheels and not compound polish, that should be o
