i think thats cheap, a new injector is £100 and apparently that place will get them pretty much flowing like new, and they replace all the seals and pintle caps, which i think must be worth the £11 alone really

plus you get a before and after flow report, which is cool lol

Does that include postage as well?
I have some that need doing.

yes, its common practice on older cars.

You can see deviations between injectors of about 20%, and by about the same from the original flow rates.

My mate has just sent some off for his 1.9 205 GTi. Should come back today. I will see what differance it make to him, then probably send mine off.

no point in doing anything with the 5th injector, total waste of money.

As standard the tolerence is +/-3% of flow between injectors. So brand new injectors can have a devience of 6% between each injector.

Its worth the cash, however when I send them off I usually get a load done so I can match a set.

You might send 4 off but they can still vary 6%, send 20 off and theres more likelihood of getting 5 close set matches.

Also beware, sometimes cleaning them can kill them.

I know I'm probably going to get shot down for saying this... BUT, if you run high octane fuel (such as V-Power) plus perhaps Redex does that not clean them the same way???

nope.

What happens is fuel thats in the injector especially after switch off evapourate from the pintle and coats the inside of the injector.

if you pour petrol on the ground and let it evapourate you see the dark mark, same craps left on the injectors.

its commonly reffered to as laquer on the injector

That's a lot of money unless you have somewhere cheaper?

11quid seems to be about the going rate... There is a bosch/fuel injector servicing place just near me and they quoted me 40quid for 4 injectors, that includes cleaning on the rig, testing, results printout of before and after, new seals etc... full service basically. So 11quid per injector doesn't seem to bad.

I would pay that :)

Perhaps a 'swapsies flowed injectors' thread needs to be started so you can try to get matched injectors :D

it sounds like it could be a good investment
surly after 15 years they wont have the same performance as new matched injectors so can only be a good thing
unless u are like me with the aint broke dont fix it attitude  especially with engines i know fek all about (all of them  )
