I've got the megane head which is the one you want for TBs..
Its a reconditioned head. Let me know if you want it.

You can use either head but you have to use paired tb's on the willy head and you can use the meg head for individual throttle bodies (better iirc)

stan

you can used paired on either.

You see good gains on either head.

AndyFielder

how comes you can use individual on the megane, the spacings must be the same!!

No the megane head is different slightly... i'm sure ben or stan can explain.

stan

you could use individuals on a willy/1.8 if u found a manifold.

its no biggy.....

No what i meant was i heard you cant use itb's on the willy head you have to use paired, whereas you can use either on the meg head, or is this false info?

stan

only reason u cant is cos there isnt an off the shelf manifold...if you made one or fitted direct-to-head you could.

theres no benefit of having individual compared to paired...its more of a packaging issue.

AndyFielder

is there any benefit in having a manifold?

stan

length.

you could use stupidly long trumpets i suppose

AndyFielder

^^ im confused by that post

DaveH

What i think stan is saying is that you need a bit of length  to see some good gains

Ah right that explains why different heads are used, so if i wanted to fit tb's to my willy head  would i be best using paired to save all the hassle?

Sorry about all of the inuendo btw!

i would hang on a bit if your interested, the solution 'might' be just around the corner.

ITB'd, charged and turbo'd at the same time? best of all worlds

you'll all see soon, no point blowing the horn right now.

The F4R and F7R710-714 will be completed first before the bigport F7.

spill the beans Ben! Will a demo car or similar be ready for FCS or similar?

BenR
16-03-2007, 12:51
no, you know i dont do that sort of stuff........FCS.....sheesh.

J o n
16-03-2007, 13:03
I know... lol

You should really, get to showcase your cars you have built and have a stand. Yeah it's full of chavs there, but it's also full of people looking for people to carry out work on their cars... makes sense to really

but FCS is shit and how many people there will actually buy anything of that sort from him? nobody that doesn't know what he can do already i bet!

FCS is full of dreamers who dotn have the money for that kind of stuff ot 'they got diss mate who can do it well cheap innit' so i think his views on FCS are spot on!

Well I spose, I'm looking at it more from the point of view of slapping it in the doubters faces... tuning is a tricky and touchy subject and is sometimes like an episode of Springer lol

Whilst on the topic of TB,s.

Obvioulsy these make a nice noise when on full chat but ive heard that a lot of cars with tb's fitted suffer with noise levels at circuits.

How do people come over this problem?

Do you need to get a carbon style airbox fitted to reduce the under bonnet noise?

J o n
16-03-2007, 15:15
the noise isn't even remotely a problem, it's only Yoz' that has problems, but then it would have been just as bad without TB's as he has/had some stupidly loud straight through pipe. Mine's much quieter than my Williams, Martin's is much quieter too, so don't see there being any issues. Mine's pretty quiet in the scheme of things, on the motorway or around town it's almost silent

when you say the new solution would be cheaper ben, what sort of price would you be looking at?

evouk

On a standard williams engine on bodies, do you think it will be about 180BHP?

Obviously much better throttle response etc etc

I noticed on flea bay a inlet manifold that says it can be used for f7p f7r and megane heads and its ideal for t/b's , my question is how would it fit all 3 if the megane head has different spacing ?
