As Martin, Winston and a few others will know, I was a little upset about my times down the strip  I wondered if everyone could post up all the details from their best run and state what has been done to their car. I.e; stripped/mapped/tyres/bonnet on/off etc etc

I ran a....

60ft - 2.40
330ft - 6.42
ET @ 594 ft - 9.16
1/8 ET - 9.76
1/8 MPH - 74.26
1000 ET - 12.56
1/4 ET - 15.09 @ 91.80mph

That is a Hybrid, cams, verniers, gas flowed/ported, no rear seats or spare wheel with bonnet on

I have some incar videos aswell which i will upload soon, i swear its not my driving :(

Does seem low fella, I did a 14.7 in my Willy 3 with justa Magnex?

I would expect low 14s even late 13's in your trim

Your 60ft could be improved, but its not gonna bring it down a whole second though

What revs are you changing gear?

FlamingMonkey

ah I see, get it remapped, your times will drop, remapping on mine was the biggest power difference, cams weren't that noticable on standard map, but after remap it was a different car.

Cliolord you looked very frustrated at the end, especially at bish and his freak of a 14.7 valver!

I was actually happy to get 15.9 in my poorly (standard) valver, although that was the send off for my engine and wasnt the slowest lol

13.5 in a clio :) Excellent time. (In comparison that is the average estimated time for a stage 1 s14 200sx (running circa 250bhp at the fly) (with full trim + leathers + road tyres)).

I'm very very impressed with that time :)

Matthew

I drove past the TB clio and another clio on the m6 roadworks Sunday morning on my way to work, nice to see you were abiding by the speed limits!!!

There were 3 200sx's there on the day one s13 was quite slow , a s14 I did'nt see run and a new S15? Silvia with a skyline engine swap apparantly...was running 12s@115+mph.

My aim is 12s....but it won't be easy. lol

will enquire about remap tomorrow at work it must be done. In my lunch break as I was crying, I decided to take aload of crap out of my car, such as door cards, rear seat belts and plastic trimage. I don't think I will go as far as the 14.7 valver though  crazy stuff but totally shocking and made me feel like a right pillock! oh, and Martin, your car is almost sewerside suicide

Martin
12-03-2007, 19:56
lol cheers...

I don't think you've gone too far wrong chief...with a better start you could have got 14.7 or so...and when midge got his chipped he went from 14.8 to 14.1..

cliolord
12-03-2007, 20:27
i feel better now that midge knocked off 0.7 8) that sounds better I am uploading the video as I type I tried abit of slippage on mr. clutch that didnt work lol but I definitly had a good time and you can count me in on the next visit to pod!

jay s
12-03-2007, 20:40
yeah im up for the next one aswell, cars gonna be all remapped by then and running sweet, hoping to better this 14.4

cliolord
12-03-2007, 20:44
i am also thinking of a supersprint manifold now but its not guaranteed to give a better power band :?

cliolord
12-03-2007, 20:44
btw jay, that is an impressive time before a map?!

DaveH
12-03-2007, 20:48
I didnt realise you didnt have it remapped cliolord, that may be why it was lumpy as when you came off the strip, defo a big improvement to be had there!

evouk the drive down there was v. tedious but winston wouldnt have found pod if he didnt catch up, twas a bit better on the way home- and Martins drive-bye's 8)

cliolord
12-03-2007, 21:15
I hope so Dave, I want to be getting low 14's and I feel confident that I will with the interior stripped but low 14's seems distant atm even with the remap to be honest but I refuse to give up 8)

DaveH
12-03-2007, 21:37
I dont think its that far off mate, i knocked a second off my times gradually throughout the day and youd be surprised what decent strippage and a re-map will do. To give you an idea most of the valvers ran high 15's and then bish's ran high 14's. imo its all relative and half of the cars wouldnt stand a chance out on the road against a spec like yours.

Id get it running sweet and then start with the stripping as you can see how much each mod improves it.

stan
12-03-2007, 22:01
you need it remapped mofo!

sorry fella should of worded that better, my car has already been remapped but needs to be done again as its running lean, max power at 5k then tails off ( had it on the rollers the week after i done 14.4 ), supersprint is a good idea

I would but I have stripped it already in 2 days lol down to metal besides carpet, seats and dash. I only have 1 sun visor aswell  ... Will do Stan but i'm still not 100% sure who to go to...Chipwizards or Hillpower now

13-03-2007, 20:16
get it mapped!!

aside from the extra go power wise, you wont have to shift as much due to raised limit!

yours feels quicker than midges first one, and his layed some good times down....

DaveH
13-03-2007, 20:51
Ive heard you cant do much better than wayne at chipwizards. Everybody who has been there has seen some good gains, it may be a bit far for you though being in rochdale!

cliolord
13-03-2007, 21:02
I dont mind a drive as long as my car is in capable hands. I don't want him to put a map on my car from someone else's for example and leave it at that. I want lots of attention on my engine. I don't just want a peak power output reading, I want a decent power band once on cam that will keep the power down through a decent section of the rev range. I know I am fussy

Mr.AdamB

all i nthe pic. ran this with my Valver

WHO NEEDS a F7R to get into the 14s....

Mr.AdamB
13-03-2007, 21:25

Thats not fussy mate thats how it should be, as far as i know a lot is put into each (individual map) as each car is different even if two engines have the same mods there will need to be differences in the ecu mapping to suit. Any respectable outfit im sure would ensure decent efficiency and power throughout the whole rev range not simply maximum power output, this is usually saved for off the shelf chips.

Worth remembering as well that the nana was remapped at chipwizards and made some healthy gains, we all know how well that thing goes!

Mine was mapped there too, it was THE thing to make the car feel faster and go faster, as said it was the biggest gain/improvement in any mod I have done.

Get it mapped you will be suprised

so its definatly m3 tackle 8) , and the rest pressuming they'd have better traction, so once on the move you'd be quicker  result!
