Seriously or is that a wind up?
Explain...
Why are they lighter? I know the bump strips on the doors are slightly chunkier on the phase II's!
ph2 have door bars ....leccy sunroof as opposed to manual on early ph1, ph2 have heavier wing mirrors
K reg ph1, and I have leccy sun roof :p Not to sure that the electric motor is any heavy than a winding mech though?

Ah, useful info.
Thanks for this. I know most things about valver specs but didnt know this!
I do notice that there are a lot of hybrid phase I's, so is this the reason or more coincidence?
I once heard that the Ph 1 valver was around 5bhp more than the later models. Dont know how true it is like.
the difference in weight is minimal really fella....doubt anyone would choose one purely because it's a ballhair lighter...
can strip them down to 840kg
