Fukkin ell they can use that sort of quality picture to prosecute?

Get a decent lawyer and with picture quality like that you could probably argue it successfully.

not too bad a outcome. Best to tell them asap as when you do tell them you will have to give the date of conviction.

I think you done alright personally.

My mate got 6 points and £150 for 56 in a 30 a little while back.

Tell your insurance company asap. Price will only alter at renewal.

82 in a 30, your looking at a DD40- dangerous driving, which carries a penalty of 3-11 points at the least.

Its not an automatic ban for twice the speed limit, depends on the circumstances etc.

I would plead that you need your licence for work and you may be lucky to keep it, if your licence is clean already.

Shitter tho, cos your insurance will go through the roof with a DD40 or CD10/20.

Just to clarify a few items a DD40 has an obligatory driving ban, minimum of 3-11 penalty points if your exceptionally not disqualified and a maximum of 2 years imprisonment...

To get prosicuted for a DD40 for excessive speed is doubtfull unless you were seen to be driving in a reckless mannor or caused an accident etc, should you have circumstance on your side you may be lucky with a CD40 but i would be most inclined to think a DD10 could be more heading your way... However that is usually reserved for extreme cases... IIRC a DD10 stays on your licence for 11 years unlike most the others which are only 4 years, very odd in my oppinion, lol

In all honesty it all depends on what you were doing, why, and what evidence there is against you. Also as a rough guide a DD40 + £10K Claim put my insurance from £900FC 3xNCB, to £1300TPF&T 1xNCB after an 18 Month BAN and a HUGE fine and LOTS of community service!!!

****ing hell dude, 82 in a 30 is a little OTT... I'd say your looking at a ban and hefty fine AT LEAST, possibly jail too... :?

I'd get a very good lawyer that specialises in this sort of thing, as for your license you can kiss that goodbye, I cant see any amount of pleading letters from the boss making an ounce of difference... sorry

i got a 2 month ban and an 80 quid fine for getting caught at 84 in a 40

they'll probably be more harsh on you because it was a 30 zone but i seriously doubt you'll got to jail or anything like that... just say your accelerator cable was sticking lol...

I doubt he will be getting a CD40, as this is for causing death by dangerous driving whilst unfit through drinking iirc!!!

I wouldnt worry about a prison sentence, as this is very unlikely in reality. You may get a ban on TT99 (totting up) with you already having 3 points, plus a hefty fine.

What was the CU20 for? Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt it something to do with unsuitable vehicle or using parts/accessories in a dangerous manner? Not one I come across often.

Fingers crossed it wont be a ban, but if it is its doubtful it will be any more than 6 months. Good luck fella.

Yea my mistake nyk i meant CD10... quite often easier for the CPS to push for a CD10 if the evidence for DD40 is thin on the ground.

with regards to the original post... the camera has got you face on.

when i had just passed and drove like a twat i got flashed by two cameras face on and nothing came of it thank god.

i then kinda got the impression they dont bother with oncoming traffic?

If that was a gatso, then they don't actually take a picture of you if you are going towards them the flash is to tell you to slow down. you can only be done by a truvelo or a camera van facing towards you.
