Nice car mate.

I thought the new 172's and 182's were far better looking than these, but Ive changed my views over the last 12months. I really really like this shape.

They look unassuming, kind of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Get some willy wheels on it, iI really liked that one I saw the other week on here, looked gorgeous.

I tell you one thing, the new 198's look awful, theyre ok from the side, but the rear is terrible.

They will DEFINATELY NOT grow on me.

I had a do with a 198 actually in my 16v, full system to manifold and cat, that's the only mod I have and they are NOT that quick, as Tiff says theyre 5 people heavier. I was surprised, really surprised, I was pretty chuffed actually!

very cheap! i thought it was a billabong or something till someone said it was a phase 1 172 (all mark 2's have no character imo). you cant tell difference between them???? not knocking it tho mate..

great bargain. they are pretty damn good cars tbh, quite quick, not Willy quick imo, but quick none the less... handling is a little suspect though!

get it lowered and do the old Ph2 side strips and badges and it makes them look a lot more moddern for some reason.

just need to replace mine as a daily runner, strip it and get some buckets :twisted:

around town it's killer on juice, on the motorway it will do 400 miles to a tank for fun though... it's only because of Andy's mapping it's so good on the motorway, it's not really designed for short trips to work in heavy traffic lol. So will get a shitter at the end of this year as a run about, or sooner if I come into some money... just want it as a toy, so decided it's getting stripped totally, some buckets and then engine work can begin again... needs more revs!

I like a nice 172 Mk1 especially in black- look far better than a MK2. I was going to get one of these instead of a Williams. :wink:

gonna get something cheap to buy, run and insure... prolly a 1.0 - 1.2 Corsa, Clio, Punto or 106... whatever is available and cheap at the time lol.

Being able to go over speed bumps would be nice... your not the last person to overtake me there... in total it must have happened about 20 times in total in different areas, 3 time on that road not including you though lol
