sounds as if my gearbox needs refurb....

is it engine out or drop subframe?

either way, what is sensible to change/do whilst its in pieces?

ie flywheel? waterpump? oilpump? pulley/cams/cambelt?

what price should i expect for a decent gearbox refurb?

lower the passenger side of the subframe, undo all the bolts on the box, take off the pass shaft, slide box across onto the subframe, remove clutch, remove all plugs on the loom that are on the cts etc, remove airbox, remove IGN module, and lift out through the top.

impossible to tell until stripped down. but around 90 quid for a strip down and rebuild plus parts
