View Full Version : Are these Willy Wheels ok for refurbishing?

These are the original wheels that came on my Willy 2 on 55k and have never been re-furbed in 13 years! :shock: Do they look as though they are fit enough for a re-furb or are they beyond help? :( The reason why i ask is cos the lips are really badly curbed and there is rust bubling under the paint, as you see.....

kerbing isnt a major problem unless it has chunks missing, scratches can be sanded out. Laquer would need to come off but that needs to be done on a refurb anyway.

Seem ok to me :D

Good news then...cheers guys. Hopefully the lip will be pretty good then, just that the last lot I had done the lips were pitted so they had to take quite a bit off. 8)

I'f you'd ahve seen mine before i refurbed them, then you can see anything is possible. mine were same condition paint wise but much worse kerbing :D

Yes, defo, my 19 16v phase one's were worse than that.

Get em dipped though first mate, £5 a wheel and your laughing!
