Wobba

Anyone 'willy'ing to rate the top 5 examples of Williams amongst our members?

If you want to post piccies to show your car off for us, go post em on the piccies section for us to gawk at and admire/criticise.

..sorry if this is a gay post...I'm bored.

Big-Hp's williams reigns the best in my books

FATBOY

must admit. you could eat your dinner out of scotts(big hp) engine bay!!!

Coops

Scotts everytime, wont even hold another williams close to it for fear of it dying of embaressment :P

03-03-2007, 01:16
I'd have to say that Scott's would have to be the best I've "seen". Went round his house lat sat to pick up at sticker, and was surprised at just how much minter his car is compared to mine! Ah well...at least I've got a target to go for... Watch this space! :P Willy3ams car is a very nice example too.

Depends on your definition of 'Best example'?
Best one i have seen was 2live's a few years ago at York.

what about Gaz's? seen that in the flesh and it looked like it was just out of the box! and no, im not referring to his 'nana' haha

FlamingMonkey
03-03-2007, 11:50
Gaz's or Andys in my opinion, I've seeen HP's and its great, but these two take the piss

2 live

as matt says tho.....defenition of best??

best = all original

or

most recently painted

or

most polished

or

fastest

or

combination of above.

im being biased here...but i must admit mine is one of the cleanest untouched examples iv seen around for quite a few years now. most have had bodywork somewhere along the line.

now mine isnt the mintiest lookin one around...but id dare say its one of the most original bodywork wise.

J o n
03-03-2007, 12:53
best ones I have seen in the flesh in no particular order are 2 lives, Andy's, Gaz's and Scott's... you'd be hard pushed to say which is the cleanest example, dont think any one of them has any rust and all look showroom standard.

At a push I'd have to say 2 lives just because it's a Willy one and it's pretty much 100% original bar alloy refurb

Martin
03-03-2007, 12:57
and ph2 grill

Gaz or Andy's has got to be the best low mileage cars I've seen personally....of the driven cars 2live's and Scott's are very clean.

2 live
03-03-2007, 13:09
lol^^ it hasnt got a ph2 grille on any longer mate.;)

altho that was due to aesthetic reasons on my part....i think the ph2 one looks loads better than the ph1. the only bit of ph2 trim i prefer to ph1 tbh.

it even has the original gearbox back in it too now. lol.

engine mite be next on the scene. then susp ;)

My votes on big hp's .....gets driven and used and it's still silly clean and fast :P .....What mileage is it on Scott?

There must be a minimum mileage to which members must drive their cars in order to qualify, as whats the point in owning a car which isnt driven?

For me its andys, and gaz's that are the best in the club imo.

Outside wc its 0001 ! STUNNING

Paint - my view is that i would of rather it of had paint that rust showing and going terminal.

Andys done a years mileage for him in a month since its now his everyday car and gaz's is very very impressive everytime i see it. Look after them lads.

I liked Craig100's aswell. That was a great example.

Jas - yours is looking mint!!!

to be fair tho mate...anyone can keep a dry stored example clean.

the real mission is to use one and keep it loookin minty fresh...now thats hard lol.

and as u know...........personally, i feel that originality is better than new paint, again.anyone can get a car resprayed/touched up to look mint, but keeping it original is where the hard work is. as u know urself too..

not dissin andys or gazs in this respect, as they are both very clean cars, but again...gazs isnt even straight, unless hes had the rear 1/4 sorted....

new paint doesnt make a minter.

When Rob was living in Norwich, I have to admit he really did look after his cars. Replacing old parts for new at no expense. Every single bolt was purchsed from reno. The cars he was working on looked immaculate. Never saw 0002 but i would say outside of WC (besides no 0001) this would be the best. FCS will be interesting this year. Can't wait to see everyone there. :D

He lives in Staffordshire these days. Can only presume he's back at his parents since the Uni-reasearch lab ended his contract. Don't speak to him anymore, afraid to say he argues too much with me. I will be putting his car to shame come FCS. So Rob if you're watching game on! :D

most are ****ed actually looking at the general state of them, it's only the owners club ones that get looked after. There's three local to me, Willy 1 that's a shed and 2 Willy 2's both having seen better days. General condition of them on here are very good imo

2 live
06-03-2007, 10:12
as jesus says.a lot of them are in a poor state.

average williams to me...is one that has had arches done, or they seriously need doing, or sills, with a respray on the cards or just done. but generally still quite tidy. if u know wot i mean.

Zollo
06-03-2007, 10:33
Yeah, I know what you mean. To me it's everything - the condition of the interior (no scuffed plastics or grubby carpets), state of the wheels, apearance of the bodywork (deep finish to the paintwork, black plastics and clear lights and no rust, stone chips or scatches) and the cleanliness and lack of errosion in the engine bay and underneath.

I know we disagree here, but I don't see a problem with a respray unless the rest of the car (underneath, in the engine bay, on the tailgate and doors) is still rusty n ropey. So you should be able to spot a shed that's had a resprayed a mile off because it still won't be a mint example :)

2 live
06-03-2007, 10:56
no rust??

lol

thats way above average imo...a clio with no rust has been dry stored in a heated garage n never moved since new, with waxoil used evry 6 months.

i dare say that evry williams will have a spot of rust somewhere. tailgate, arches, floor, hidden by sound deadening/underseal, bulkhead, behind lights.

unless its been masked of course ;)

that and the ill fitting body panels, but if it wasn't for that it would be as you say, 'new'. Paint work was stunning, I just expect it to be 100% perfect, the rear quarter gaps to the tailgate and bumper were different at each side for some reason though.... which was a massive shame :(

I agree, It's only an enthusiast who will keep on top of a Williams to keep it mint, some people aren't willing to invest time and money to keep on top of things , even small things like stone chips and parking dents, that's why there are some right sheds around.

Anyway this one gets my vote....
