The only thing the RS1800 has on the 16V imo, is its lush recaro interior.

In every other way the clio surpasses it.

It is comparing to phase 1 interior though lol. Nah have always loved the rs recaros, fancied an rs1800 until i found out my insurance would be nearly double!

Early ph1 is much better than the later ph1 imo. You can read the text btw if you click on the image again. Makes it MASSIVE! :lol:

Dan, early ph1 also have a meshed material on the sides rather than velour and to me just seem like they hug ones sides more.

missing the point really, there are only something like 500 RS1800 made!?!?!..... would rather have one of those to be honest, my cousin had one it went really well and yes the interior was top!

Why do most people buy Williams????----- cult status (handling/performance) and that there are not many around right?

RS1800 ok has not got the clios 'cult' status tag but is nice to own a limited run of a car - You would be surprised how good they are. I still would have one over the 16v evey day of the week im affraid!

As for going for the fester everytime, why? It's slower, handles worse, has less equipment, looks worse, and most of all......somebody stuck one of those horrible blue ovals on the front. :wink:

Thats what autocar got on their tests with the car and all the timing gear. With a good driver that time is possibe imo. Ive had 7.4 with a gtech but averaged 7.5-7.7 and 8.0+ with passenger :)

The rs1800 was clearly shit, thats why they bought out the rs turbo, but even in that is only valver pace in standard form :wink:

RS turbo came out before the rs1800 :? they were the last of the mk3's. Still would rather own an rs turbo, a lot more easy tuning capabilities!

I dont think there are fair figure for the Rs1800, ive been in one and it was pretty quick not much slower than my williams. And before any of you ask im not a blue oval man infact ive never owned a ford but will give credit where its due.

Yes the RSturbo did come out before the RS1800, my old uni lecturer helped design and develope it..... he told us a funny story once that for a couple days manufacture of the rsturbo he made a mistake and had all the fiesta turbos constructed using a 1.1 ghia crank shaft and not the performance one.....

He then done the honest thing and threw away all the performance cranks so nobody would notice. lol, So if ur driving around in a RS and it dont feel as quick or it just blows up then that could be the reason. DOH
